Ngoy Kalangwa - Tanzania

Pastor Umba was sent from Congo to Tanzania as a United Methodist Missionary in 1991. He planted First United Church in Dar Salaam in 1992. He then moved to Morogoro and planted a church that would meet in a rented school room in Morogoro for 3 years. In 1993, he had the opportunity to acquire a piece of land in another part of Morogoro. They initially started to meet on Sundays as a church and plan for their future. Starting in 1998, funding started to become available for building the Morogoro UMC Sanctuary, Wesley Preschool, Wesley Day Care, Wesley Primary School for 1st thru 7th grade (currently 600 students), Suzanne Wesley Woman’s School, Suzanne Wesley Health Clinic, and Pastors Education Center.

Members of New Covenant have been taking trips during the summer to assist in building many of the buildings since 1998. Faith Promise Funds have also assisted in funding the building of several buildings.

Pastor Umba also has helped bring the word of God to the Maasai people. He has planted 3 churches in 3 different Maasai Tribes south and east of Morogoro.

Members of our church sponsor children who would otherwise not be able to attend Wesley Primary school. If interested in this ministry, contact Debbie Conrady, (405) 922-7250, debbie.conrady@gmail.com.
