Christina Butterworth - Zambia

Christina shared about her calling to become a long-term missionary in Zambia through Overland Missions. After 17 years of serving in full-time Children's Ministry in the local church--including being the Kids Director at New Cov from 2012-2017--Christina is serving as a full-time missionary in Ikelenge, Zambia, taking the gospel of Jesus Christ to remote and unreached people so that they can know Jesus for themselves and walk in the fullness of what He has given them.

There are men, women, and children who have never heard the good news of the gospel and whose lives are dominated by fear, powerlessness, and addiction. Together we get to see these people encounter the living God, find life, freedom, and healing in Jesus, and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit!

Christina gets to join the Ikelenge Team in ministering to the Lunda people and pioneering Kids On Fire in their district! Over half of Zambia's total population is comprised of youth under the age of 18, with a low estimate of over 10 million youth. What an opportunity!

Ikelenge is situated in the northwest of Zambia, jutting up between Angola and DR Congo. It is a strategic location to not only impact its immediate district, but these nations as well!
