Serve Opportunity: Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma

On Thursday, June 25th we will be serving at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma starting at 1:30pm. We will meet at New Covenant’s south parking lot at 12:30 to pray together and then carpool to the Regional Food Bank (3355 S Purdue Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73179)!

Volunteers will do a variety of tasks: Backpacks for Kids, Pantry Boxes for Seniors, labeling bags, sorting produce or bread, and more, so this should be an easy volunteer opportunity for kids over 8, teens, and adults! A perfect way to serve as a family during the summer! Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. This is also a great way to serve one weekday afternoon per month! Upcoming dates to serve will be on the fourth Thursday each month.

Please let Barabara Perry know if you can help serve by June 17th by emailing yrrep3@cox.net as she must register each person at RFB, seven days prior to the volunteering date.  Let Barbara know if you are willing to drive others in your car.

The Food Bank distributes 50 million pounds of food each year, through its network of more than 1,300 community partners, in 53 counties in Oklahoma. What a fabulous and super-organized place to serve!

We hope you will consider joining this group, to help a great cause…fighting hunger in Oklahoma!

Whiz Kids Interest Meeting

Are you interested in helping New Covenant host the incredible literacy program Whiz Kids this fall? Join us for an Interest Meeting and lunch on Sunday, June 28th at 12:30pm in the Chapel following the 11:00am Worship Service! Make sure to RSVP for the meal by registering below!

New Covenant is becoming a Whiz Kids host church! This past December, for the first time, Edmond Schools were opened up to Whiz Kids host churches, and we jumped at the chance to partner with Orvis Risner Elementary, our neighbors to the east.

Whiz Kids is a one-on-one literacy tutoring and faith-based mentoring program led by volunteers who partner with elementary schools to close the academic opportunity gap by serving the whole child academically, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Their mission is simple: help students learn to read so they can read to learn. During the 2024-2025 school year, 92% of Whiz Kids students improved their reading scores.

In the past, we partnered with Bridgeway Church to help serve the school in their neighborhood, but now the opportunity is right here, and we need your help.

There is a financial cost to launch and sustain this ministry. One of the ways we care for students each week is by providing a light snack each week, and New Covenant will need to cover that cost. If you would like to financially support this ministry, you can give here: https://www.fellowshiponegiving.com/App/Form/e661cb0d-117b-43d3-a355-2c40545df8c1.

Beyond finances, our greatest need is people. To run this program well, we need 30 or more volunteers week to week. The bulk of those will be tutors, but we also need 2-3 people to lead the program itself and others to help with hospitality, food, and simply being present.

This is a tremendous opportunity for us to bless and care for our neighbors in a way that truly makes the love of Jesus known.

Disciple Middle School Camp

Dates: July 22nd-25th

Location: Sky Ranch Cave Springs

Cost: $320

Camp is one of my favorite weeks of the year. It’s incredible to see students grow in their love for the Lord and for each other, while also having a ton of fun. Between powerful worship, teaching, small groups, and all the activities at Sky Ranch, this week consistently creates meaningful moments and lasting impact.

We would love for your student to be part of it this year, and we highly encourage them to invite friends. Friends who come will receive a discount, making it a great opportunity to bring someone along.

Please don’t let cost be the reason your student doesn’t attend. Scholarships are available for any student who needs financial assistance.

Men’s Bible Study

Our Men’s Bible Study will be studying Romans 8 this spring!

In this 8 week study, Laurie Short speaks from the city of Rome- mining the insights of the greatest chapter in the Bible, and adding historical reflections on what life was like during Paul’s time. Scholars and pastors agree that Romans 8 contains everything we need to live our faith. You will see and feel the truths of this incredible chapter, and discover that Paul’s words are as powerful and relevant to us today as they were when they were delivered to the church of Rome.

Please make plans to join us for this Bible Study on Thursday mornings, at 6:30 am in the Fireside Room. We'll have hot coffee and donuts ready for you!

Dayspring High School Camp

This summer at camp, we will step into the story of the Book of Jonah, a story that is about far more than a man and a fish. Jonah runs from God when asked to go somewhere difficult, yet he finds that God’s goodness still pursues him through every moment of resistance, chaos, and second chances. Throughout the week, students will discover that no matter where they are or how far they feel from God, He meets them with grace and invites them into something greater. Camp will be full of fun, friendships, and meaningful encounters that help students experience the goodness of God in a real and personal way.

Camp Dates: May 26th-30th, 2026

Camp Location: New Life Ranch, Frontier Cove | Adair, OK

Camp Cost: $330

Theme: The Book of Jonah

Speaker: Aaron Calhoun

Band: Chris Hopper

Senior Sunday

We love celebrating our high school seniors during this special time of year! Graduating is a huge milestone—not just for the students, but for their families as well—and we want to honor and celebrate them in a meaningful way.

If you have a senior, we’d love to invite them to be part of Senior Sunday on May 17th. We will have a breakfast for graduates and families at 10am, and  during the 11am service we’ll take a few moments to recognize each senior, present them with a gift from Student Ministry, and pray over them as a church family—celebrating and commissioning this exciting transition into what’s next!

If your student would like to participate, here’s what we need from you:

  • Email their first and last name to jgrisham@newcov.tv

  • Send a senior photo (or a recent picture)—this will be shown on screen!

  • If you’ll be attending the 10:00am breakfast let Jonah know in the email!

  • Be in the Worship Center by 10:50 am on May 17– We’ll call the seniors up about 15–20 minutes into the service. They’ll be up front for around 4–5 minutes total—just a brief but meaningful moment!

We can’t wait to celebrate your senior with you!

Men’s Retreat at True North Base Camp

Pastor Jay would like to invite the men of New Covenant to something meaningful.

True North is a local ministry that creates space for men to hear from God and grow as sons, husbands, fathers, and friends—through a deeper life in Jesus. They host a weekend experience called Base Camp, an “expedition of the heart,” focused on honest faith, real transformation, and becoming the men God is calling us to be.

Pastor Jay will be attending the True North Base Camp, April 30–May 3, at Camp WOW in Stuart, OK, and would love for other men from New Covenant to join him. This weekend is an opportunity to step away from the noise, lean into Christ, and grow alongside other men in a meaningful way.

While schedules are full and weekends are valuable, the investment in a renewed relationship with Christ reshapes everything—our marriages, our parenting, and the way we show up in the world.

Details & registration:

If cost is a barrier, partial or full support is available. Those who register are encouraged to let Pastor Jay know so travel and coordination can be planned.

This is an invitation to become more present, more courageous, and more like Jesus—together.

Location: Camp WOW, 8256 Diagonal 1500 Rd, Stuart, OK 74570

Cost: Starting at $200
