FAQs

Like every church, we have things that make us unique, but we want you to be in the know! If you have any questions let us know—you probably aren’t the only one!

  • When we call ourselves a Wesleyan community, we are defining the core beliefs and practices that center us in the rich legacies of John and Charles Wesley. The Wesley brothers birthed the Methodist movement in the early 18th century at Oxford College through their deep conviction “to reform the nation and, in particular, the Church; to spread scriptural holiness over the land”. This driving conviction paired with their organizational excellence created the Wesleyan or Methodist movement and became one of the greatest missionary forces the world had ever seen.

New Covenant Church is a continuation of that legacy.

  • You can find a list of our beliefs by clicking here.

  • Faith Promise is how we support missions through New Covenant.

The funds raised through Faith Promise are the primary way we support local and global missions at New Covenant. The funds raised through the year for Faith Promise come from commitments made by families and individuals that they will use either a percentage or all of any financial blessings that God might give us over the next year. It’s not a pledge but a promise born from the belief that God blesses us so we can bless others.

  • Kids are welcome in all of our worship services! We have activity bags outside of the Worship Center and Chapel that you can grab before worship that are full of coloring sheets and other activities that we hope help make worship fun for your child!

On most Sundays, we also have Children’s Church happening in our NC Kids Building for infants-5th grade. The lessons and activities during Children’s Church are designed specifically to help your kids connect with God!

  • Connect with a group of friends to study God’s Word and to grow together IN Community!

Family Groups are typically groups of six or more people that meet regularly to grow in their faith, build relationships, and take care of one another. Sunday School, Small Groups, Bible Study, MidWeek, Men’s and Women’s Ministry, Young Adult groups, and Seniors groups are all Family Groups. Find out more.

  • A Discipleship Group (D-Group) is a group of three to five people who read together, pray together, and meet together to become the love of God for one another and the world.

    D-Groups are…

-Small. A minimum of three and a maximum five people.

-Same Gender. This is to allow for vulnerability, trust, and safety.

-About Transformation. Time + Trust = Transformation. Growing more and more like Jesus is the goal.

-Relational. There is a high priority for developing healthy, Spirit-filled relationships.

    D-Groups...

-Read Together. D-Groups are unified through the reading of a common biblical text.

-Pray Together. Whether together or apart, D-Groups pray for one another.

-Meet Together. D-Groups commit to meeting together consistently and with intentionality.

    A D-Group Meeting...

    -Starts with prayer

-Asks questions about your soul, your struggles and successes, how the Spirit and scripture are speaking to you, and about your sins and secrets.

Learn more or sign up for a D-Group.

  • Participate with many other people in intercessory prayer for the needs and concerns of others by internet. PrayerNet distributes prayer concerns automatically through the internet via e-mail using a Google Group. If selected by the person making the request, prayer requests entered in our Prayer Request form go to members of New Covenant’s PrayerNet email list.

  • As Believers we learn from the Bible that when our faith is alive, we should have actions flowing from that faith. We are called to serve in the Body of Christ, using our gifts and passions for the benefits of others.

We have many different opportunities for you to serve inside the church or outside in the community. Find out more and let us know you are interested in serving by clicking here. Our Director of Care and Connection will reach out to you to get you started!

  • If you have been visiting New Covenant and are ready to officially join our church family we would love to talk more to you about our mission as a church community and the different aspects of joining our church. Reach out to our Director of Connection and Care, Amber Hocker by emailing ahocker@newcov.tv.

If you have never been baptized, let Amber know and our pastors will talk to you about baptism!

  • Each year we read through Scripture together as a congregation through a designated reading plan. In 2024, every week we will have readings from the New Testament, Psalms, and a Wisdom text! This year there will be an opportunity to join a Scripture Plan Reading Group through our newcov.tv app. You can share your thoughts and learn from others also reading the weekly Scriptures.

You can also read along with the reading plan through the newcov.tv app. Choose the Bible icon at the bottom right of the screen and then click on “Plan.”

  • The newcov.tv app is a great resource to encourage you on your discipleship journey every day of the week.

You can watch the live stream of our Worship Center services every Sunday, listen to previous sermons, read our annual Scripture Reading Plan, keep up with events, and allow notifications to stay up-to-date with what’s going on!

    Download our app here.

  • We have a weekly newsletter that goes out via email on Wednesdays. Our e-news is a great way to keep up with upcoming events, bible studies, listen to last week’s sermon, and stay up-to-date with everything at New Covenant.

You can sign up to receive our e-news here.

  • New Covenant has a Facebook Group that was created specifically for those who consider New Covenant to be their church home. We often give out more specific information, or asks, to our Facebook Membership Group than on our public social media accounts. Join the group here.

  • The Red Bag is passed around during the offertory every Sunday morning alongside the brass plate that goes towards the general budget.

The Red Bag was created as a way for those who give online to have a tangible way to give as part of their worship experience.

On the first Sunday of the month the funds received through the Red Bag go towards the Ann Dougherty Community Care Fund that is distributed as individuals and families in Edmond ask for rental or utility assistance.

The other Sundays of the month, the funds raised through The Red Bag go towards unbudgeted items that come up throughout the year.

  • The All In Capital Campaign is helping us on our journey to be a church that helps people know Jesus and make His love known everywhere.

In the fall of 2021 we began the process of raising funds for the All In Capital Campaign that has three celebration points.

The first celebration point happened last summer when we were able to eliminate $1 Million of debt!

We are currently in the second celebration point where the next $1 Million raised is going towards top priorities for building renovations and repairs. We have already replaced the HVAC systems throughout the building and are beginning the major renovation to the Worship Center.

The third celebration point will be with the final $1 Million raised that will help address the needed renovations to the Discipleship Center and Chapel, as well as additional structural and cosmetic renovations.

  • The New Covenant Endowment is a fund that anyone can give towards that helps to fund ministry for years to come. Over the year we have two major fundraisers for the New Covenant Endowment when we sell flowers during Lent and Advent.
