women’s bible Study 9:30 AM | Fireside room
Starting january 28th
Women of all ages will come together in the New Year to learn more about the Holy Spirit from UMC pastor, Carolyn Moore, in her study Encounter the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our connection to the heart of the Father. And yet, too many Christians have missed out on the richness, power, and presence of the Holy Spirit. Too many of us have no idea the Holy Spirit loves us and desires to draw us into the heart of God. The Holy Spirit is our inheritance as followers of Jesus. To access the power and fullness of this gift, however, is a choice. What if you could tap into that power? What if you could walk in confidence and pray with authority? Wouldn't you like to know how to hear the voice of God and how to read the Bible so it becomes a Living Word for you? Wouldn't you benefit from a deeper, more intimate connection with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit? Encounter the Spirit is a seven-week small group guidebook aimed at helping you discover the treasure of a deep relationship with God, through the power of the Holy Spirit. Workbooks available for purchase at the first meeting. Childcare available upon reservation – contact Carly Cottle at email@example.com. RSVP to Shelley at firstname.lastname@example.org.

What do cooking dinner, driving sugar-buzzed junior high girls to a soccer tournament, and being nice to that coworker who perpetually gets on your nerves have to do with making a lasting impact? In Church of the Small Things, Melanie Shankle reminds us that God does extraordinary things in our most mundane moments of faithfulness. Through her hilarious reflections on being a mom, wife, and writer, Melanie helps us embrace a meaningful life as we find the beauty and the laughter that lie right beneath the surface of every ordinary, incredible day. God uses the smallest acts of faithfulness to love and influence the people around us. The Connect Group invites all women to take part in this book study. Books will be available for purchase in class.

It's Not Supposed To Be This Way – Life often looks different than we’d hoped or expected. Some life-events catch us off guard while others shatter us completely. Feeling disappointed and disillusioned, we can start to wonder about the reality of God’s goodness. In her newest Bible study, Lysa TerKeurst shares what she has personally discovered – that our disappointments can be divine appointments that our souls need to radically encounter God. Lysa invites women into her own journey of faith to help us stop being pulled into the anxiety of disappointment, train ourselves to recognize strategies the enemy uses, discover how to be steadfast when God does give us more than we can handle, shift our suspicion that God is cruel or unfair to the biblical assurance that God is protecting and preparing us, and know how to encourage a friend and help her navigate hard realities with real help from God’s truth
