Moms of teens and pre-teens are in for a treat with local author and speaker, Kristen Hatton, who loves to speak with moms about our teens’ search for identity and worth and how this drives our kids’ behaviors. As our teens look for acceptance, approval, love, significance, value, and worth in the world, they wind up with false gods/idols, which lead them to striving for perfection and feeling the pressure to measure up. Kristen’s heart is to help parents get to the root and see the idols in our lives for what they are. Simply trying to address/monitor behavior without dealing with the heart will never affect true change. And true change comes only in seeing our great need for a Savior and finding a secure, true identity wrapped up in who He is for us. Kristen’s newest book, Face Time: Your Identity in a Selfie World, addresses the impact social media has on our teens and pre-teens. Books will be available that night.
Childcare is available for those who RSVP. Invite friends and neighbors and join us from 6-8 pm in Room 102/3. Need more info? Contact Shelley Johnson at 562-3227 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
