Skyline Urban Ministry

May is Skyline Month at New Covenant! Skyline Urban Ministry has a mission to impact lives, empower those in need and to address the roots of poverty in Oklahoma. Skyline does this well through many facets; an eye clinic, food resource center, clothes for kids, prime timers, clothing closet, Christmas grace, and a prom event.

Here is a testimony of one of our members, Johnny Floyd, and his experience serving at Skyline.

“Skyline Ministry and how it has touched our life.  Through the fellowship and worship at New Covenant UMC, one focus stands out, missions.  The observance of other worshippers reaching out and helping others, touching the lives of those in needs, locally and globally, it seemed to be the thing to do.  An invitation came from mission’s team to help serve lunch at Skyline.  Having no idea of what to expect, to our surprised there were others willing to serve and it clearly exhibited Gods hands and feet at work in the lives of others.  Gods calling was evident in our life and those of others as well. What a confirmation of where God has placed us.  The gratification that it has brought to our family has been indescribable in words and deeds; it has cause us to recieve unspeakable joy to be able to help others that aren’t as fortunate and blessed as we are.  Skyline is just the tip of the iceberg so to speak in terms of missions provides by NCUMC and its followers.  God’s Word in promises and blessing are faithful and sure.   The phrase ‘you can’t beat God’s giving’ is utterly true, He provides strength, power, resources and everything needed for us to be witnesses of His unlimited favor and grace towards us and Skyline Ministry. It has been a life changing experience to be able to be a part of something much bigger than ourselves.”
